Azure G Photography Style Guide

These are in no way requirements, just some suggestions I’ve compiled over the years to make you shine in your photos! :)

My Biggest Tip:

Be comfortable! I want you to feel comfortable and true to yourself! These are suggestions but if that’s not your vibe, that’s okay! On a different note of comfort, I do recommend bringing a comfy pair of shoes you can slip of in you’re wearing uncomfy shoes! We end up walking and talking quite a bit and I don’t want you to be in pain!!

Things That Work Well:

Neutral Colors - think whites, black, tans, creams, dusty blues, etc. There are neutral shades of almost all colors, try to select more of a mild hue instead of one that’s bright and bold! This will help your photos be timeless, ones you’ll want to look back on ;)

Textures - add some variety to your photos! Textures will add some variety and a new, fun element to your photos!

Layers - highly suggest bringing layers, especially in fall and winter! This will add more depth to your photos!

Pieces With Movement - think twirly dresses, flowy pants, skirts. These will help bring more movement to your photos which will help me to help you feel more comfortable in front of the camera!

Simple & Timeless - this isn’t really specific, just more of a vibe :) we want your photos to age well and for you to love them for years, so try to think timeless. Also, these are YOUR photos, so we want you to shine, and sometimes an outfit can take away from that!

Things to Avoid:

Neon/Fluorescent Colors - these cast unflattering colors onto your face and don’t usually flatter yourself or your surroundings

Stripes (Mostly the horizontal kind) - these don’t usually photograph well for many reasons. They can be unflattering to you but can also cause issues with the lines looking a little *wonky* after turning into a digital file. It’s best to avoid them to be safe!

Too Much Bold/Distracting Patterns - this one gets complicated…I love pattern but if you’re going to a location with a more colorful and distracting background, the pattern gets to be a little much! I included some photos of when I have LOVED the pattern outfits, so you can get an idea, but if you have questions, reach out!

Pattern works well for city photos so it doesn’t get lost in busy environment.

Pair with something plain! More of a plain background/doesn’t have too much going on.

Have the pattern contrast your surroundings! That’ll ensure the pattern won’t be too much!

Paired with a plain background!

Chunky Jewelry/Watches (Unless they serve a meaning to you!) - try to avoid chunky jewelry, watches, and anything that distracts from you! You are the main focal point in your photos and you don’t want to take away from that! Also, some chunky jewelry may be fashionable now, but it won’t always be that way!

Colorful Makeup and Spray Tans - try to avoid too much color on your face! Again we want your photos to be timeless, so colorful makeup might not translate well! I also suggest not getting a spray tan! My editing style is naturally more golden and we don’t want you to look bright orange!

With all this info remember the most important thing is that you’re comfortable and you feel like yourself!

If you have questions, I’m more than happy to answer them! Not sure if the outfit you chose will work, text or email me! :)
